All day event
Guided tour & opening reception Thursday February 4 at 5pm
Kenyan-born
of Indian descent, and living in North America since childhood, artist
Brendan Fernandes explores his diasporic identity—one of inner struggle
between his memories of Kenya and the perspective he now has as an
adult of his country of birth. A provocative exhibition whose title
means “hurry up, hurry up” in Swahili, Haraka Haraka showcases three
recent works that address issues of cultural authenticity, memory, and
migration.
